Thank you for sending a truck to pick up our recycling today. Unfortunately, your contractors decided they were not going to do their job today. They left us a note which said “We emptied your cart(s) today, but for future collections, please note…the cart was overfilled”.
1. They were a day late… still haven’t figured out how to staff this program, I see.
2. They did not empty my cart. Nor have they ever warned us before.
3. If the reason is (as stated) so the lid won’t be damaged, I would suggest that damage sustained as a result of my failure to follow the guidelines would be my responsibility and should not result in an arbitrary decision not to pick up my recycling.
4. As a result of another week without recycling pick-up, there will be a significant amount of cardboard and other recyclables in the landfill.

Congratulations for choosing a truly inconvenient time of year to make a point.
